The Future 2025 Kia K4 will have an aggressive, athletic design with angular headlamps, a slim H-shaped grille, and a broad air inlet at the bottom of the front end bordered by triangular trim pieces. It has a much sportier front-end design than the contemporary Forte. The K4’s back has slim R-shaped taillights, a sloping rear roofline, and triangular trim elements on the rear bumper. The K4 is about two inches wider and three inches longer than the Forte, so it should have additional passenger room.

Engine & Performance

Most K4 variants include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque), front-wheel drive, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This powerplant is a direct carryover from the 2024 Forte, where we found the combo extremely slow. That feature will be hard to alter with the K4, but Kia does offer a 190-hp turbo 1.6-liter four as an upgraded powerplant. The GT-Line Turbo version has a more powerful powerplant and a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. The GT-Line Turbo has a more advanced multi-link rear suspension, whereas all other K4s use torsion beams. we recorded a 0-60 mph time of 8.7 seconds. It’s not a record-breaker, but it’s typical of a compact sedan with a base engine.

If you want greater torque, opt for the GT-Line Turbo grade. This baby has power moves thanks to a beefed-up powerplant with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. Not only that, but it also boasts a high-quality multi-link rear suspension, which improves handling. Meanwhile, all other K4s maintain the traditional torsion-beam configuration.

2025 Kia K4 Safety Features

Okay, now let’s talk safety! For the 2025 model year. Every K4 model comes standard with a slew of driver-assistance features to keep you traveling confidently. But, if you want greater peace of mind, there is more advanced technology available. Optional evasive steering aid can help you avoid unforeseen obstructions like a pro, and a seriously souped-up adaptive cruise control system with lane centering reduces stress on extended travels.

Let’s now discuss the fundamentals of safety. Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection is what we’re talking about since, in the grand scheme of things, every little bit helps keep people safe. To help you in staying your course, it offers a standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assistance. Additionally, you have the choice to upgrade to autonomous cruise control and lane-centering functionality if you’re truly trying to improve your safety profile. After all, who doesn’t appreciate a little additional help when traveling?

Competitors to Consider

Compact sedans like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla remain segment stalwarts, with more options like hybrids, manual transmissions, hatchbacks, and track-ready vehicles like the Civic Type R and GR Corolla. Still, the K4 is an excellent entry point into Kia, and it now boasts more technology and a stunning new design that mimics Kia’s flagships.
